Klein. The poem is about a little girl Amanda. She is instructed by her mother
continuously. She askes Amanda not to sit slouching her shoulders. She askes
her not to bite her nails. She asks her to do her homwork. Amanda is freedom
loving. She does not like her freedom curtailed. She is lost in her fantasy.
She imagines that she is a mermaid drifting in a calm sea. She imagines that
she is an orphan roaming about in the streets. She imagines that she is Rapunzel locked in the lighthouse. Thus the poem describe the state of mind of
a little girl who is freedom loving.

है। उसे उसकी मां द्वारा निरंतर निर्देश दिया जाता है। वह अमांडा को कहती है कि वह
अपने कंधों को झुका कर न बैठे। वह कहती है कि अमांडा अपने नाखुनों को न चबाए। वह
कहती है कि अमांडा अपना होमवर्क करे। लेकिन आमंडा आजादी चाहती है। वह नहीं चाहती
कि उसकी आजादी को खत्म किया जाए। वह कल्पना में खो जाती है। वह कल्पना करती है कि
वह शांत समुंद्र में तैरने वाली एक जलपरी है। वह कल्पना करती है कि वह एक अनाथ है
जो गलियों में घूम रही है। वह कल्पना करती है कि वह रपुंजेल है जो एक लाइटहाउस में
कैद है। इस प्रकार यह कविता एक छोटी लड़की की मन की दशा का वर्णन करती है जो आजादी
को पसंद करती है।
